A beautiful rare piece of Cornish Uranium sea glass wire wrapped in Sterling silver 925 wire; with Sterling silver 925 beads, wire and rings

Uranium glass, also known as Vasline Glass, was used to make glassware from around the 1900s to the 1980s, it was made with Uranium oxide to give it a yellow ~ light green colour. It glows bright green under black light!!

The Sea Glass has been found on beaches in Cornwall by me, I can spend hours on the beach searching for treasures!

What is sea glass?
Sea glass would have once been drinks bottles, perfume bottles, windows, ornaments, lights or jars that has found it's way to the ocean, usually dumped as rubbish, taken out by floods, or from shipwrecks.
In the ocean it is tumbled and smoothed by the salt water waves, pebbles and sand, this tumbling creates tiny 'C' shapes in the glass and eventually the glass will become frosted.
It can take between 5 and 50 years to smooth down sharp edges and frost the glass; some sea glass can be over 100 years old!
Sea glass comes in many colours, the most common being sea foams (light green/blue colours) dark greens, whites, ambers and blues, these will have come from bottles, jars and windows.
Rare colours are reds, purples, yellows, pinks, oranges and blacks, these will have come from ornaments, boat lights, older drinks bottles or perfume bottles.
No two pieces of sea glass are ever the same, you can guarantee a unique piece of jewellery every time.
